BOSTON. 2nd Day

Sunday, May 19th

After 6.4 miles walking yesterday, we decided for a Hop on Hop off bus, bought the tickets online and after our morning coffee in the hotel, and ready to leave to take the bus, I got an email stating the bus was cancelled due to the weather.

So we decided for a day trip to Salem, under the weather! Walk to the train station, about 10 blocks, and the train was not working because the tracks were being repaired, but they set up a bus that would take us to another station where we could take the train.

Views from the bus, until we arrived to Swamscott, where a train was waiting for us

Finally at Salem, we began our walk to a quaint, sleepy, Puritan settlement where nothing exciting happened..until some things began frighten the quiet community, the fear of witches among themselves.

After walking for a while, we had lunch (DimSum) really out of the witches theme, it was good.

Salem Witch Museum, very interested to know what happened in 1692, the museum provides a deep overview of this dark chapter in history. The Salem witch trials were a series of hearing and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft, were 19 people were executed by hanging. It was one of the most notorious cases of mass hysteria.

Again on the street, under the drizzle…walk back to the train station, 40 minutes to wait for the train, it was cold!!!!!!!

Finally on the train for the trip back, stopped again at Swamscott to take the bus back to Boston.

Walk back to the hotel under the rain!!!!! Had a light dinner (like always at Whole Foods! LOL. $20 for the 2 of us!

A nice Orange and Tequila drink and until tomorrow!!!!!
