5/16 New day in Croatia! Breakfast made at home, cereal for me, ham and cheese sandwich for Jackie. And to the road again!!! Our adventure today to Plitvice Lakes. Overcast like it has been for this last week…..We are missing a little bit of sunshine!!!!!! Stop at a gas station. OMG!!!! 14.7 Liters of gas (1 gal=3.78 L) = 150 kunas. 3.8 gallons of gas = $ 25 us. YEs, $ 6.50 per gallon That was a side note!!!! Continue to the Lakes. Such a beautiful scenery!!! Water falls, lakes, breathtaking. Walking a lot, (many parts of the park was closed due to flooding) so we could not go to the upper part nor taking a boat. But just beautiful!!! Left the park with our souls full!!!! Looked for a place to have lunch. Outside the restaurant it read: THE WINNER So without doubt we walked in. Until now, we have been sharing our meals, and it was perfect for us. But today, due to the name of the restaurant, and after walking 10000 steps in 3 hours, I decided to order whatever I like and so did Jackie. Mushroom Rissotto. It sound delicious. And Jackie Meat on a stick, pork on a bed of French fries….so many fries!!! My rissotto was a mashed creamy strange thing…..I had 4 or 5 bites, Jackie ate a little too, and we decided to bring it back home. (I dont think I will eat it, unless I found some stuff to put on it ) But because I am always ready for desert, I looked at the menu and there it was , a delicious crepe with beautiful fruits on top and powder sugar….It had my name all over. I called the waiter, and told him that I wanted that pancake. His response: Don’t look at the pictures, it is not like that. It is just a crepe with marmalade inside…….and then I saw the name WINNER = WINE + DINNER = WINNER!!!!!!!!! I settled for a apple strudel, not really, but it had apples on it. LEft the place, like always laughing about it and back to the bed and bed. Put my PJ’s on, got the IPAD , wrote this notes, and I am calling it the day. Tomorrow another adventure in another city.
