Almost last day in Warsaw….tomorrow leaving for Zagreb

5/10

What a great day in Warsaw……woke up at 9 AM. , nice!!!!! Light breakfast and walked to the Palace of Culture and Science, 30th floor….what a view!!!! Is the tallest building in Poland, it was a gift from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland. The inhabitants of Poland are not too kin about the building and it has different nicknames, like the Elephant in Lac Underwear, the Russian Wedding Cake are some of them. It contains theaters, museums, bookshops, a large conference hall for 3000 people and an accredited University. It was described by a prominent American physicist, Richard Feynman, as the “craziest monstrosity on land”

After enjoying the view of the 30th floor, we went downstairs to an Exposition, it was so much fun!!! Here to explain:

Time to keep on walking…… took a taxi to the old town. Stop for a bite, got dumplings (pierogi polish dish- also Russian) we have been eating that every day, stuffed with mushrooms and spinach, sauerkraut….no words to describe it! Wonderful!

Left the restaurant and walk through the Old Town, passing by sculptures of Polish Kings, Presidents, Senators and Artists. Universities, our friend Copernicus (because we have met him yesterday) and we went back to the Holy Cross Church, where Chopin heart is.

And here ends our trip to Poland. Getting up early tomorrow to take the flight to ZAGREB. I will be back in my next blog. Hasta la Vista, Baby!
